 Mr. Daniel Park (BSPS Judge) of 'DJP Riding Ponies' has kindly sponsored a 'Best Rider' Championship Perpetual Trophy, the trophy is presented to the competitor that receives the most 'Best Rider Cards' in Rings 1 & 4 throughout the season. One Best Rider Card will be given out in each of these classes at every show. |

Phase 2 - Conformation, Type & Suitability for Dressage - 40 Marks
The individual Freestyle Show to include the following movements in an arena no larger than 40m x 60m: Halt, walk on a long rein, ordinary trot serpentine (2 or 3 loop serpentine acceptable), extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal. Individual show not to exceed 2 minutes.

(If the first two have qualified then qualification will pass down the line to 4th place, only if there are 6 or more entries in the class. If fewer entries than 6, then qualification will pass to 1st and 2nd placed only. Riders must be aged 14 and over. Injuries caused through racing such as blemishes allowed. Class to be judged on manners, way of going, ride/individual show and conformation. The Judge may ride. Judges decision is final.)

These classes are for young athletic horses /ponies that have the conformation and movement to go to the top of their sphere. All animals to enter the ring together to be assessed as a class and for the temperament of each individual animal.
All exhibits then will leave the ring and will re-enter individually for allocation of marks.
The class is to be judged in the following manner:
1. The Judge to stand at 'A'. Exhibit will be awarded marks for conformation out of a maximum of 20
marks.
2. The exhibit to walk the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks for the walk.
3. The exhibit to trot the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks for the trot.
4. Overall impression to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks as exhibit leaves the ring.
5. Exhibits are required back at the completion of the class for presentation of the awards.

Please note: Points gained in Ring 5 will count towards the "Ronnie Nuttall Memorial Championship Trophy" for the annual novelty championship and will not count towards the overall junior points champion.

(A horse is considered to have fallen when the shoulders and quarters on the same side touch the ground or touch the obstacle and the ground simultaneously).
Before the start of every class, riders will have five minutes in which to walk the course. Any objections must be voiced to the jumping judge before the class starts.
All classes will be judged at a speed of 300 metres per minute. Exceeding the time allowed will incur a ¼ time fault for every second over the time allowed.
Showjumping competitors should jump first before entering any other ring.The showjumping judge will only call the competitor twice.
Adjustment of hat, saddlery or dress, and outside assistance.
Jumping or attempting to jump any obstacle or passing through the finish without a hat, or with the hat strap incorrectly fastened incurs elimination, unless the judge decides that the competitor was so far committed to jumping the obstacle at the moment when the chin strap came undone that he/she could not be expected to pull up before jumping the obstacle.
In the case of adjustment of hat, chin strap or saddlery becoming necessary during the round, for safety reasons, outside assistance may be given.The clock will not be stopped and faults will be given as for a resistance (ceasing to go forward).
If it becomes necessary for the rider to dismount, faults will be given as for a fall. (Rule 27 - Pony Club Rule Book)

Ring 7 - Veteran Horse Society Showing Championship (April 10th, 2011)
                  2011 Area Qualifier - 11am start.
Veteran Horse Society Area Qualifiers kindly sponsored by BLUE CHIP.
Note: No foals, spurs, galloping or wearing of earrings permitted. Minimum age of the handler for in-hand classes is 9 years old.
The Veteran Horse Society Showing Championships are open to both Members & Non- Members of the Veteran Horse Society. Please note that ONLY Veteran Horse Society Members are eligible to compete in the Regional Championship. Qualification cards will ONLY be given to the first 3 Members with their V.H.S. Membership/ Horse Registration cards/ Covering Letter from National Show Office. The Regional winners will go on to compete at the Veteran Horse Society Showing Championship Supreme Final at Olympia in December.
