Hello to members old and new.
At last we managed to hold our first show of the season in May, which was a great day, and it only rained in the afternoon! Firstly apologises to those whos day was ruined by the mistakes made on the timing of the classes between the actual booklet schedule, the A4 copy and the website we are truly sorry for our mistake and poor organisation. PLEASE DISCARD ANY SCHEDULES EXCEPT THE BOOKLET SCHEDULE.
50TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
We have lots planned for our 50th anniversary show on 29th June including an adjusted schedule with championships and prize money for members, and basically a fun day for everyone, the show is of course a none points show with loads of fun classes and hopefully will be a lovely day to mark the occasion, we do hope everyone will be a able to attend the show and support the club. The rosettes will be amazing (see a sample in the booking in office). The show will boast a main ring with events being held in the main arena, side stalls, trade stands etc.
The year book we were hoping to compile hasnt been done due to lack of interest, despite ourselves trying to collect material and people promising they would bring or send in old photos, rosettes etc, there are very very few who have. With the items that have been received then a display will be compiled for all members to visit and have a good laugh at some of the old photos see if you can spot some of our committee members as kids on the photos!
PLEASE NOTE:- there is an alternative schedule for 29th June show only to our usual club schedule so please pick one up or run one off the internet.
The dance this year will be a formal ball dont panic, it wont cost the earth, but we would like smart formal dress (you know, your school leavers party dresses, for those who have left school recently). The venue will be the Robin Park Arena, Wigan as it is the only place big enough to seat 450+ people, with refreshment supper included in ticket price.
We wont even start about the trophies, but you will want to win one of these no pressure!!!!
QUALIFIERS FOR TODAYS SHOW 8TH JUNE 2008
* Veteran Horse Society Area Qualifiers held in Ring 8 starting at 11am anyone entering any of our club classes sp, shp, rh, m&m who are competing with a veteran (15yrs+) then please come and collect a qualifying card for the VHS Summer Show, Arena UK, Grantham, Lincolnshire 9 & 10 Aug.
* UK Showing Summer Champs NOW TO BE HELD AT BOLD HEATH, Nr Warrington on 12&13 July NOT Myerscough College (please check the only copy of the schedule displayed in booking in office Qualifiers News Board)
* Festival of Champions Summer Champs NOW TO BE HELD AT THE GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOWGROUND, Harrogate on 1- 3 Aug
* Shires Riding Club Challenge, Stoke on Trent.
* UK Showing Supreme RC Champs Venue and date to be confirmed, we are still looking to compile a team, so put your name forward, on the forms provided.

TRAINING SESSIONS
From November 2007 we will be running the group lessons at Landlords for club members again, it proved extremely popular and was a great benefit to those who attended last year. Next session is Saturday 14th June 2008, starting at 10am, please book to avoid disappointment Clare 07990822239.
